Happy Friday! I know it has been a while since I have posted. Feb./early March I think are the busiest time of the year for me (even more so than Christmas). Between our school auction, report cards and a zillion other school stuff, I can feel a bit overwhelmed. I completed my report cards last night and today I was able to make a birthday card for a friend. I bought some goodies from Papertrey Ink a few weeks ago and I finally broke them out today.

Happy Friday to you. This week has flown by to me, and I am definately looking forward to the weekend. No big plans, but it is always a culture shock going back to work after a vacation.
My parent's anniversary is coming up, so I decided to make a card for them. I combined Dawn McVey's color inspiration with the Mojo Monday sketch.
Here is the color inspiration from Dawn McVey. I didn't have the aqua mist, so I used Stampin Up's retired soft sky. I like these colors together. I'm a sucker for that chocolate color.
Here is the sketch that I based my card off of. Like I said earlier, it is much more involved than my normal style, but it's fun to leave my comfort zone sometimes.

Good morning my friends. I have discovered that mornins are my favorite. I'm more alert and everyone is still asleep in the house...bliss. Yesterday was my cousin's birthday, so we went out to Sierra Nevada for dinner. Yummy! They have added fish tacos to their menu and I was very happy with them, and of course they go great with a nice pint of IPA.
Today's card is a quicky I made for my cousin. I realized that I had a few minutes before my son woke up from is nap, so it had to be quick and easy. I have to keep my work area clean and clutter free or his little hands tend to discover new toys (MY scrapbooking toys, LOL). I have to admit this is the first time I have actually used Stampin Up's new in colors. I enjoyed them, especially the rich razzleberry.
Well, enjoy your day. It's back to work for me this morning. I'm looking forward to the stories the first graders will have for me today.

I recently bought Dawn McVey's Damask stamp set from Papertrey and thought it would be fun to play with, especially with these colors. I would have liked to embossed it, but I wasn't quite that motivated to get the embossing stuff out. Here is my take:

Here is another card from the Papertrey Love Song stamp set. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the hearts have crystal effects on them giving them a glossy feel and look. Have a great Monday and week!
